After much contemplation, as well as speaking with his advisors, President Trump has decided to ban the popular TikTok app here in the U.S. The Chinese-owned app has been a source of concern for the U.S. government for quite some time now. The president, along with other government officials, believes the popular app poses a huge threat to national security.  Add to the mixture TikTok’s history of oppressively strict censorship of videos, primarily any video that makes condemnatory statements criticizing the Chinese government. President Trump strongly maintains that he has more than enough information to warrant banning the app due to the high probability of the app’s potential for sharing confidential user data with Chinese officials. The president deems the app problematic with the potential risks far outweighing any probable benefits.  President Trump isn’t alone in his concerns, though. Several other countries have followed his example and are in the process of banning the TikTok
