Protesters Grow Increasingly Violent

Today, in Chicago, 18 police officers were severely injured by violent protesters while attempting to protect a Christopher Columbus statue. Rioters threw rocks, frozen bottles, lit fireworks, and other items at the ill-equipped officers. Thanks to Mayor Lightfoot’s decision to “reorganize” the police department. In this particular instance however, “reorganizing” the police meant that the officers involved lacked the necessary equipment to deal with possible rioting.

Two days prior to this, four police officers, including an NYPD chief, were injured by violent protesters. Prior to that incident, three more officers were violently assaulted by “protesters” attempting to cross the Brooklyn Bridge. A veteran Chicago police officer said, “The lack of leadership has already gotten dozens of officers hurt....if the police aren't allowed to do what is needed we will be burying one of our own.”
