The Plight of The Sea Horse

Image
Every year, millions of sea horses needlessly die due to the unethical, often illegal, catching of these endangered species. As of 2019, approximately 64 million of these majestic creatures are illicitly harvested from oceans. Unfortunately, their fragile habitats are often completely decimated due to the insensitive and unmindful means of acquiring the sea horses. Seahorse Trust’s Neil Garrick-Maidment was quoted saying his team “had managed to persuade eBay to ban the sale of sea horses in the past year” and were “now targeting shops in the UK.” eBay’s decision to ban the sale of sea horses on their website was a selfless act that has saved the lives of over 100,000 sea horses so far. The already endangered sea creatures still face extinction, though. In part, due to the unethical purchasing from businesses who either don’t know or don’t care about these noble animals’ plight.  Their genus is the Hippocampus, which means quite literally, horse-sea monster. The Hippocampus genus i...

Why??

How is burning bibles and the American flag actually going to help anything? Destroying those two items accomplishes absolutely nothing! I feel like these protesters are purposely trying to destroy America and Christianity. In my opinion, anyone caught burning an American flag should be charged with treason. It’s way past being about George Floyd or police brutality. This is nothing but pure hatred and evilness. It’s needs to stop.  #BlueLivesMatter #SaveChristianity #SaveOurFaith

More Tolerance, More Kindness

Image
There’s a point of no return once we move past mere acceptance, straight into denying ourselves our own civil rights and liberties. We live in a country where it has become unacceptable to pray in public, pray in schools, and recite the American pledge of allegiance, in America! A country where one cannot even say ‘Merry Christmas’ to another person without fear of offending someone.  Despite what some may believe, America was founded on a devout belief in God and a deeply profound pride in one’s country. Our forefathers founded our nation, the birthplace of freedom, on these two important principles. Yet every day we are shamed into giving up our rights and beliefs to accommodate those who are too close-minded to do the same for us. We are made to feel ashamed of who we are as Christians and Patriots. We are made to feel guilt-ridden, shamed into what is “normal” or “acceptable” in society just to please others, and to avoid offending someone. I’m not saying any of this to be purp...

#Me Too

Image
The #Me Too movement certainly seems to have caught its second wind. Now it’s members are going after Bill Clinton, and rightfully so. He was not only good friends with Jeffrey Epstein, but also traveled extensively with him. He may not have been involved in Epstein’s dirty deeds, but Clinton was certainly at least somewhat aware of Epstein’s egregious and appalling crimes considering the amount of time the two spent together. As I said, Clinton may not be directly involved, but at the very least, he’s guilty by association.

Free Speech

Image
I fail to understand why so many individuals feel as if their opinions are the only ones worth listening to. Some people either shove their opinions down your throat or call you a racist simply for disagreeing with them. It certainly seem as if a great deal of people these days react this way when speaking to anyone who has an opposing view. Last I checked however, this is still America. In America, everyone is entitled to voice their own personal opinions, EVERYONE.  Everyone should be able to voice their personal feelings and beliefs, without having to fear some type of retaliation or punishment. If you’re allowed to kneel without condemnation, then you should also be allowed to stand without receiving condemnation. Not just Democrats, not just Liberals, and not just Leftists. Not just Republicans, not just Conservatives, and not just the Right.   It’s also important to remember that individuals can disagree with one another and still remain friends. Only someone truly immat...

President Bans TikTok

Image
After much contemplation, as well as speaking with his advisors, President Trump has decided to ban the popular TikTok app here in the U.S. The Chinese-owned app has been a source of concern for the U.S. government for quite some time now. The president, along with other government officials, believes the popular app poses a huge threat to national security.  Add to the mixture TikTok’s history of oppressively strict censorship of videos, primarily any video that makes condemnatory statements criticizing the Chinese government. President Trump strongly maintains that he has more than enough information to warrant banning the app due to the high probability of the app’s potential for sharing confidential user data with Chinese officials. The president deems the app problematic with the potential risks far outweighing any probable benefits.  President Trump isn’t alone in his concerns, though. Several other countries have followed his example and are in the process of banning th...

Portland Fines Federal Troops

Image
In Portland, Oregon, city commissioner Chloe Eudaly is fining federal troops $500 for every 15 minutes they refuse to remove a section of fence that surrounds a specific area around the federal courthouse. Doesn’t matter that the fence protects the federal courthouse from being demolished by protesters, all that matters to the Portland Commissioner is that it blocks a bike lane. Portland’s City Council stated “We are fining the federal government $500 every 15 minutes until it removes a reinforced fence in front of the Mark O. Hatfield Federal Courthouse.” Commissioner Eudaly was quoted saying “We are assessing the maximum fine of $500 for every 15 minutes the fence obstructs our street, and we are investigating other legal remedies available to us.”  “The structure completely obstructs the bike lane and needs to be removed promptly," wrote PBOT director Chris Warner. "Failure to remove will constitute a Class I violation of City Code and Transportation Administrative Rules d...
