Interview With The Artist: Taly

Today I interviewed the artist, Taly. Taly is a 30 year old artist from parts unknown. Known as TrollGirl on DeviantArt, Taly is an amazingly and gifted young woman. I’ve been a fan of her work forever and she never disappoints with her beautifully creative and colorful artwork. She is so gifted as an artist, that many of her pieces have become tattoos, forever on the truest canvas of life, the human body. Let’s just say, I know who my next tattoo design will be from!

Taly has been creating art for 27 years now. She may have only been three when she created her first masterpiece, but I have no doubt that this is her true calling. Taly has been a member of DeviantArt for 13 years now and her art never ceases to inspire and stir the imagination. She describes her style as fantasy and animal art, with the occasional touch of surrealism and horror. I asked her what inspired her to be an artist, she replied “The boredom that comes with being too poor to afford normal children’s toys, with a sprinkle of attention disorders.” Her favorite subject to paint, “Probably cats, either that or dragons.” Her tools of trade, “Watercolors and my go-to tool, but I’m fond of digital art as well.”

A fun fact about Taly is that at least 20-30 people are walking around this world with tattoos of her art on them. She’s illustrated several children’s books about vegan lifestyle, as well. She sees her art as fun and colorful despite her dark side. “My art is very fun and colorful, which convinces people I’m a positive person, while I’m toxic and dead inside.” Some say that the most beautiful art comes from the most tortured of souls, and Taly is no exception. Her vibrant art is a bright light for all who live in the dark as she does. She hopes to become a tattoo artist one day, saying “I’ve got a tattoo machine and I’ve been practicing on lemons...tough, butched tattooed lemons!” Leave it to Taly to once again lighten our mood. I fail to understand why so many individuals feel as if their opinions are the only ones worth listening to. Some people either shove their opinions down your throat or call you a racist simply for disagreeing with them. It certainly seem as if a great deal of people these days react this way when speaking to anyone who has an opposing view. Last I checked however, this is still America. In America, everyone is entitled to voice their own personal opinions, EVERYONE.  Everyone should be able to voice their personal feelings and beliefs, without having to fear some type of retaliation or punishment. If you’re allowed to kneel without condemnation, then you should also be allowed to stand without receiving condemnation. Not just Democrats, not just Liberals, and not just Leftists. Collector of Souls

Her: “It’s good to see you.” Him: “I know it’s been awhile.” Her: “I heard you joined the army.” Him: “Yeah, that was a crazy ride.” Her: “I heard rumors in town. That you died over there...” Him: “You can’t believe rumors.” He knew she still cared. Her: “So, what kind of work do you do now?” Him: He held his breath, his thoughts screaming loud. Him: “I’m a collector of sorts.” Her: “A collector of what?” Him: “A collector of souls.” Her: “I doubt that very much.” Him: “You see that old black Buick? The Evil Eye

The evil eye protection charm is a blue talisman that is round in shape, typically made of glass. The talisman contains an outer dark blue circle, an inner white circle, followed by an innermost light blue circle with a black dot (as in the eye’s pupil) painted on it. It is a protection charm that an individual wears, or carries, to protect themselves from any and all unwanted danger and/or evil spirits. Legend says the evil eye protective charm calls upon an otherworldly presence that reflects any malicious and vengeful glares/curses from a spiteful individual. The spiteful person believing that an innocent person (the victim of the curse) somehow wronged them, and so wishes harm towards that innocent individual.  The evil eye talisman (or charm) was created to protect someone from this evil eye curse.
